This entry-level course for security professionals will equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to provide security services to clients, operate basic equipment, patrol premises, control entry/exit points and screen items or people. Our experienced trainers ensure each participant gains valuable skills that they can use in many areas throughout their career.
You will be required to complete 7 core units and 5 elective units. Graduates will be eligible for work in the following positions:
- Security Officer (Control Room)
- Security Officer (Mobile Patrol)
- Security Officer (with Dog)
- Security Screener
This course will also qualify you for more advanced security courses

There are no formal prerequisites.
Participants should possess adequate (Year 10 equivalent) reading, writing, numeracy and comprehension skills to complete learning and assessment activities.
Entrants must also be 18 years old and have no criminal convictions within the last 10 years.
